Gospel ABC Book

I put this children's picture book together for our Relief Society's Old Fashioned Homemaking activity.  I received a similar book a few years ago from my mother-in-law (who also did this book at a Relief Society activity).  My kids love looking at it during Sacrament meeting.  So since I was in charge of coming up with an idea for our own activity, I thought this would be a great idea to do.  It is a great gift for kids or grandkids, for Christmas or for those you visit teach.

I printed all of the pictures as 4x6's.  I found photo books at walmart for a $1.  (They came with 24 pages, so I put the letter A in the back of the front cover and Z in the front of the back cover so I could fit all 26 pages in).  Then I brought all of the pictures and photo books to the activity and the sisters put the pictures in the books.  It was a great and easy project that only took a few minutes to complete.

Not only do I love having another quiet book for my kids to look at at Church, but I love that they're learning important Gospel principles.  (And I tried to keep the text simple for young children to read).

ABC & 123 Homemade Picture Book

This was an easy, fun book that I made for my kids.  I designed my pages in gimp and then printed them as 4x6 photos.  I found the photo book at the dollar store, which had 36 pages in it.  So it worked out perfectly to do a page for each letter of the alphabet and numbers 1-10.  I decided to make this ABC picture book unique by adding pictures of our extended family on the letter's page their name starts with.  This was a great way to remind our kids of the names of our extended family since we don't live close to some of them.  It was also fun customizing this book with some of our family favorites and personal photos.

Quiet Book

I really wanted to make a quiet book for my kids, mainly to keep them quiet and busy at Church or when we are traveling.  I scanned the internet for cute quiet book ideas, and my favorite site by far was Imagine Our Life.  Not only are there countless ideas of the cutest pages I've ever seen, but the author includes free templates for her pages.  So it's very easy to make your own pages and it did not require a ton of sewing.  Most of my pages were inspired from that website, and then I made a few of mine own.

ZippersI also sewed in a couple of pockets on my back page so I could stuff crayons, paper, or whatever else I need to in the quiet book.  The pockets are also very convenient if you don't have time to put all of the pieces back in their spots.  Just stuff the pieces in these pockets and sort later.
